A delegation from Kuwait's Health Ministry concluded on Friday a four-day visit to Belgium.

BRUSSELS, Oct 8 (KUNA) -- A delegation from Kuwait's Health Ministry concluded on Friday a four-day visit to Belgium.
The ministry's assistant undersecretary for supportive medical services Dr. Qais Al-Duwairi told KUNA that the visit was an opportunity to get to know health services and the expertise of hospitals in Belgium.
It was also an opportunity to exchange expertise and information and to find new ways to stress medical and health relations and cooperation, especially in the fields of education and training, between Kuwait and Belgium.
He praised Belgium's hospitals, noting that the two sides will exchange visits to stress health cooperation.
Medical teams from Belgium, specialized in pediatrics, pediatric surgery, microsurgery, stem cells, and physiotherapy, were invited to visit Kuwait, he said.
The Kuwaiti Health Ministry invited in 2009 more than 500 international consultants from different medical fields to improve the quality of services and to encourage the exchange of expertise.
It also signed several agreements and memorandums of understanding with Canadian, British, German, and US hospitals and universities.
The Kuwaiti delegation, which was led by Al-Duwairi, included Chairman of Hussein Makki Jumaa cancer centre Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadi and head of the councils of anesthesia departments Dr. Mohammad Shamsha. (end) mah.ris KUNA 081003 Oct 10NNNN
