The Medical Team

The team counts more than 120 collaborators among them 12 medical doctors (MD) dedicated to reproductive medicine only.

Herman Tournaye, MD, PhD, Head of the Centre for Reproductive Medicine:
Together with professors emeritus André Van Steirteghem and Paul  Devroey, Prof. Tournaye experienced at first hand the fertility research that led to all the world firsts at the Brussels University Hospital over the past twenty years.

Besides infertility in general, he sub-specialised in male infertility. Prof. Tournaye has more than 250 peer-reviewed articles to his name. These include more than 45 as first author and 30 as last author. A study by Evers on the ‘100 most-cited papers’ in reproductive medicine ranked ‘Tournaye, H.’ in third place with five papers (Evers, H., Human Reproduction, 2010).

Today, CRM has an in-house team of specialists who concentrate on all subfields of fertility, i.e. assisted reproduction, reproductive surgery, reproductive endocrinology, reproductive andrology, oncofertility, reproductive immunology, reproductive genetics and reproductive infectiology.
